ABOUT Cathy Davys

Te Auaha is proud to partner with Cathy Davys to offer an advanced hair cutting course in the centre of Wellington.

Cathy Davys has represented New Zealand at International competitions in Paris, London and Australia.

Cathy has been awarded the HITO Trainer of the year award twice.

Cathy’s passion for education took her around the world, she completed Train the Trainer courses with Vivienne Mackinder in the Hamptons, New York.

Starting 1 August 2022 Cathy will be holding a five-week programme “Classic to creative Cutting and Styling” at Te Auaha. Cathy creates techniques and tools to help elevate you to an in-demand stylist in the salon. You can cut a straight line and cut layers, but how do you mix it up to give your salon guest a truly amazing cut? This course will teach you how.

Each week will be dedicated to a different hairstyle, mixed with excellent business tips and inspiration. You will cut styles like the shag, pixie cuts, disconnected undercuts, and more, using all your tools from scissors to razor and more.

Attendance of all five courses is recommended.

This programme is open to all levels of hairdressing: if you have just graduated, this is for you. If you are feeling in a rut and need creative inspiration, this is for you.
